PLACE IN THE SUN
Magical rays filter through lace,
soft as a Mother's embrace;
warming a baby who smiles in her sleep,
playing with angels go hide and seek.
She knows all about her place,
her place in the sun.
Something happened along the way,
that made her forget how to frolic and play.
Innocence vanished without a trace,
she mourned its' loss as it drifted away.
She can't remember her place,
her place in the sun.
When she was younger,
she won ever race.
She filled every hunger,
and stole every base.
Searching for her place,
her place in the sun.
When she grew older,
she slowed down the pace.
Winter winds seemed colder,
dreams harder to chase.
Illusive shadows hiding her place,
her place in the sun.
Once again, she needs to feel the light,
shining down upon her face.
Ah, to bask in sheer delight,
to love and to laugh and to run.
She longs to re-visit her place,
her place in the sun.
