Yellow
Yellow is the color of my daughter's hair
leaves in the autumn
and a stranger's stare.
It tastes like spring
and feels like the sun.
It's the energy of mischief
and un-had fun.
It sounds like her laugh
when she can't stop,
it's the color of her room
and a lollipop.
It's the epitome of happiness
no worry...no doubt.
It's the light of my love for her
when all other lights go out.
Bold, courageous, brave and strong....
it's the sound of her voice singing our song.
And when the world falls apart at the seems,
it's the comfort of hope
wishes
and dreams.
